Rome - Home cooking and baking with Carla Tomasi
Carla has run a number of well known London restaurants and was at the leading edge of bringing real Italian food to London. She has been teaching for over 20 years now, is fluent in English and an expert at passing on her knowledge and skills. She firmly believes hands on is best so all of her classes are practical. These courses are ideal for independent travelers enjoying a stay in Rome and keen to learn from an expert chef in the comfort of a centrally located, relaxed kitchen.
Courses can be either tailor made on request or there are a range of culinary fields to choose from: vegetarian dishes, bread making, classic Italian, fish preperation and Italian fish cooking, The Sicilian menu, summer salads, pasta making, desserts and cakes (including Carla's famous panatone) and lots more. There are options to include tastings of and lessons on Italian salumi, wine and cheeses by local experts.
Carla grows vegetables and many herbs and whenever possible they will be used in the cooking and she has a small network of people that supply her with organic eggs, poultry and pork. She has good sources for olive oil and buys from an excellent fishmonger.

Access is easy by public transport and taxis can be arranged in Rome City centre.
