Tasting
Places 2009
Newsletter
Dear Foodlover,
We would like
to bring you up to date on some exciting developments.
Firstly, we have a stunning new brochure so please do take a moment
to browse through it; there is so much on offer now and we would
hate you to miss another Tasting Places experience. Click on the
link here
After much research we have discovered a new property in Sicily,
one which enables us to make perfect use of our depth of knowledge
of the less well known part of Sicily. Baglio San Vincenzo is
a historic walled farm and winery whose wine making history dates
back to 1645. Join us in the autumn to re-create mouth-watering
dishes such as ‘Caponata’, made with aubergines, capers,
pinenuts and raisins and; ‘Arancine’, traditional
fried rice balls stuffed with ragu and cheese. The seafood is
outstanding; freshly caught swordfish simply grilled and drizzled
with Sicilian lemon juice, ice-cream flavoured with jasmine, mulberry
or even rum is a must. We are creating bespoke packages for small
groups in October, it will be olive oil harvest time, we have
a visit to press to taste the freshest new season's extra virgin
oil.
Due to popular
demand this year we are returning to Chateau de Pallanne in Gascony,
France for a fabulous week hosted by Matthew Harris, Head chef
of Bibendum. As well as being renowned for foie gras, Armagnac
and the freshest mountain cheeses, Gascony is the home of some
of the world’s most renowned chefs, Pierre Koffman and Michel
Guerard, who started their culinary journey here. It has to be
the perfect destination for those who love and appreciate good
food and delicious wine.
We are running
our ever popular week-long and short gourmet breaks in Tuscany
rounding off the year with a Cooking & Shopping short break
in November including a trip to the ever expanding Prada outlet.
Additionally we have branched into Le Marche to give everyone
a chance to visit this beautiful undiscovered region for the olive
harvest in the Autumn, returning with the fruits of your labour,
freshly pressed olive oil.
Our Masterclasses
continue to be popular; Alastair Little is taking time out of
his busy Nottinghill deli to come and do 2 exclusive masterclasses
in our Holland Park Kitchen. Sam Clarke at Moro is hosting and
teaching three new dates this year . Eric Chavot at The Capital
with four dates this year is superb as ever; and due to the high
demand and continuing interest in Indian classes, we are returning
to Chelsea’s destination restaurant Chutney Mary. And for
those who cannot join us in Gascony in the autumn, Matthew Harris
can recreate the magic of French cuisine in his Masterclass at
his restaurant Bibendum.
Your feedback is always welcome and we look forward to assisting
you with any enquiries you may have.
