This region has too many astonishingly good things going for it – Arneis, Barolo and Barbaresco wines from an outstanding run of seven cracking vintages, arguably the best cooking in Italy, fantastic cheeses, wonderful hotels, restaurants and scenery. Our Wine and White truffle Weekend will include a trip to the Alba truffle market and memorable meals in excellent restaurants to sample the white diamond. We will be visiting the superb Ciau de Tornavento overlooking Barolo vineyards, where we had the best meal of 2004 - anywhere, and sampling the great Nebbiolo wines of the region. This promises to be a gourmets dream. We will be staying in Neive at La Contea, Claudia and Tonino's homely albergo in Neive. They are chefs and wine makers, great cooks and warm hosts. The accommodation is homely, and the table more so, renowned for its food and outstanding list of Piedmontese wines. Bedrooms are ensuite, small and comfortable. Their enoteca selling a great selection of wines, prosciutto and salami is directly opposite and a great location for aperitivi before dinner. Sample Schedule – 2 nights Friday
