Slow Food Festival, Salone del Gusto
Turin, Piedmont, Italy

24th to 26th October 2008, to register your interest click here

This region has too many astonishingly good things going for it for us to not include it any longer, Barolo and Barberesco wines from an outstanding run of seven cracking vintages, arguably the best cooking in Italy, fantastic cheeses, wonderful hotels, restaurants and scenery.

After a very successful and delicious weekend at La Contea in Neive and the bi- annual Salone del Gusto in Turin, we are planning a trip along the same lines to this year's festival

We will be staying at La Contea in Neive famous for thier restaurant, white truffles and fabulous wine list. Airport transfers, meals, fine wines, entrance to the fair and transport to and from the fair and accommodation are included,

The Slow food movement grows from strength to strength
The Salone del Gusto will be an amazing event
:- discover the top-quality artisan products that have converged on Turin from round the world, giving visitors a chance to take a gastronomic journey.
The World Market, housed in a space of about 1,000 square meters will host the stalls of small producers from European countries such as France, Spain, Great Britain, Ireland, Austria, Switzerland and Germany, as well as from further afield– the United States and Japan, for example – while larger stands will be occupied by institutions, consortia and large companies. The Slow Food Presidia will also be present.

The entire pavilion will be filled with a varied cross-section of people, and you will be able to discover and buy products such as the acclaimed jamón ibérico de bellota (ham from Iberian pig fed on acorns) from the Real Ibérico consortium, the best tuna steak hooked in Spain, real Japanese saké or traditional local products from Ireland – from wild salmon to chocolate and Green Spot whisky. Britain will be present in numbers thanks to the support of Food From Britain: meaning traditional British cheeses (Cheddar, Stilton, Cheshire), genuine regional Real Ales, wonderful jams and preserves, pork products (including English breakfast bacon) and lamb and beef from native breeds.
