Owing to popular demand and the success of our Cooking & Shopping Weekends at Fattoria Montelucci we are putting on a series of 3 & 4 night Gourmet Breaks in Tuscany which will include great cooking, fabulous food & fine wines.

It is a misconception that Tuscany is about remote villages and the simple life of a ontadini. The truth is that it is mecca for those who take their food and wine seriously. There will be hands-on cooking classes using the delicious local produce, how to prepare Italian feasts, meals accomanpanied with some top flight regional wines and depending on which break you choose these will be combined with market trips in either Florence or our local street market in San Giovanni Val D'Arno and a trip to Siena. As always there will be lots of goodies to bring home.

San Giovanni Val D'Arno street market is an opportunity to stock up on wonderful local pecorino, fresh parmesan, dried porcini, Tuscan wines and other delicacies. A day in Florence starts with coffee and truffle panini and a visit to the Mercato Centrale. It might be followed by a serious mornings shopping in Via Tournabuorni and kitchenware including that much coveted electric pasta machine. Choose between Lunch at Cantinetta Antinori, Harry's Bar, Cibreo, Enoteca Pinchiorri.

Which ever programme you choose you can be assured of first class teaching, delicious wines and spectacular food.

The Veneto, La Foresteria Serego Alighieri – 3 night Gourmet Break

A warm welcome awaits you at La Foresteria Serego Alighieri in the heart of the Veneto region, home to some of the finest Italian wines and excellent food. Our break of gourmet treats will include hands-on classes, top flight regional wines including delicious Amarone's and Reciotos produced only in the Veneto.
There will be a visit to one of the original rice mills still in operation, risotto tastings, an afternoon in the historical city of Verona where you can stroll up Via Mazzini catching up on all the latest trends or simply drink in some of its facinating history. For those who wish we can arrange a visit to Verona's Arena for an evening performance of the Opera.

*The Opera
If you choose to take the opera option please let us know in advance so that we can book tickets for you. Opera tickets will be an additional price and will depend on where you wish to be seated. Either guests can stay on in Verona from the afternoon visit and dine there, we will provide recommendations of where to eat. Alternatively guests can return to La Foresteria to change and freshen up and be provided with a light dinner and return to Verona for the Opera. La Foresteria is situated 20 minutes from Verona centre. Transport is provided.
